报告题目：Impact of the sea surface waves and bubbles on the high-resolution remote sensing reflectance data

报告人简介：

Palanisamy Shanmugam, Professor and National Geospatial Chair Professor, graduated from the Centre for Geoscience and Engineering, College of Engineering, Anna University in 2002, then went to the Korea Ocean Research and Development Institute (KORDI) as the visiting scientist and later became the expert scientist at KORDI in 2003-2008, and successively joined as the Assistant Professor in 2008, became Associate Professor in 2010 and Professor in 2014 at the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Madras, and National Geospatial Chair Professor in 2018 for his contributions in marine remote sensing and geospatial technology. He was a visiting professor at the Ocean Optics Laboratory, University of South Florida in 2010, and is a regular visiting Ocean-Star Professor in the SOED since 2017.

Prof. Shanmugam is a known expert in the field of marine optical remote sensing and satellite oceanography. He has deep attainments in atmospheric correction and water color information inversion. His main research interests include: marine optics, water color remote sensing, radiation transmission model, underwater imaging, satellite oceanography, coastal and ocean environment impact assessment among other related topics. Over the past two decades, he has made outstanding contributions in the above research areas.
