报告题目：Marine Optics: From Fundamental Principles to Cutting-Edge Applications

报告人简介：Prof. Cédric Jamet holds a PhD in Remote Sensing from the Université of Pierre et Marie (France) in 2004 and he is a full Professor since 2023 at the Université du Littoral-Côte d'Opale (ULCO) and at the Laboratoire of Oceanology and Geosciences (LOG) in north of France. He is a specialist of remote sensing of ocean color with an emphasis of atmospheric correction. For the past several years, he dedicates most of his time to study the potential of lidar for ocean applications.

报告摘要：This lecture will offer a comprehensive overview of fundamental principles in marine optics. Prof. Cedric Jamet will begin by elucidating the concepts of inherent optical properties (IOPs), their critical link to ocean color, and the estimation of vital biogeochemical parameters within aquatic systems. Subsequently, he will discuss methods for observing ocean color from space-borne platforms, emphasizing the significant challenges and essential techniques involved in atmospheric correction.Furthermore, the talk will feature several illustrative case studies to demonstrate the practical application of these optical principles in diverse marine research and monitoring contexts.
