报告题目:Soil Acidification: the challenge of the 21st century

报告人简介Yakov Kuzyakov教授,国际著名土壤生态学专家,德国哥廷根大学教授,多年致力于植物、土壤和大气中碳氮的转化迁移研究,尤其是激发效应和根土界面碳氮根际过程研究,在同位素标记与自然丰度方面也有广泛探索。Yakov Kuzyakov教授担任Global Change Biology、Soil Biology and Biochemistry、European Journal of Soil Biology等期刊的副主编或编委,其在Nature、Nature Communications等期刊发表了450余篇论文,H指数115,连续9年(2015-2023)入选科睿唯安的全球高被引科学家。

报告摘要:Soil acidification is a global problem raising in the last decades mainly because of intensive nitrogen (N) fertilization of croplands and high atmospheric N deposition. The most natural acidification processes are boosted by human induced acceleration of biogeochemical cycles of nutrients and ballast elements, leading to irreversible losses of base cations from soils by leaching and removal with harvest, and to CO2 fluxes into the atmosphere. 

In this talk, we will raise the awareness of soil acidification processes mainly related to N fertilization in intensive agriculture. Acidification mechanisms and soil buffering systems will be shortly presented. As rhizosphere is one of the most important hotspots of soil acidification, the processes at root surface and the root-microbial interactions leading to H+ release will be visualized and discussed.
