报告题目:The absorption and sedimentation properties of microplastics and its migration characteristics in the East China sea

报告人简介:曹露,浙江海洋大学副教授。2018年获四川大学水力学及河流动力学博士学位,后就职于浙江海洋大学海洋工程装备学院,专注于微塑料的迁移规律研究。曹露副教授的研究内容主要包括微塑料的吸附、沉降、迁移特性以及东海及近海微塑料污染等环境问题。研究特色为结合当下前沿的微塑料污染问题,采用原型观测、数值模拟、实验探究等方法,来提高对微塑料的危害及微塑料在环境中的迁移的认识。迄今为止以第一作者及通讯作者身份在Environmental Pollution,Science of the Total Environment, Ocean Dynamic, Aquaculture等国际知名SCI期刊发表论文多篇,论文被引累计300余次,同时担任多个国际主流学术期刊审稿人。

报告摘要:Microplastics (MPs), as emerging contaminants, pose ecological threats particularly at high concentrations. The predominant recognized migration path of MPs spans from rivers to ocean, ultimately aggregating in marine environments. Due to the absorption and sedimentation characteristics of MPs, coupled with the dynamic ocean milieu, their distribution exhibits spatial and temporary disparities. Identifying MPs’ hotspots assumes significance for ecological impact assessment and further control strategies. We analyzed the sources of MPs in East China sea and illustrated MPs distributions with seasons, ocean fronts may be the hotspot of MPs, but more field observations are essential for validation. Based on the modelling study, MPs released from the Zhoushan region enter Xiangshan Bay, home to extensive cage culturing activities. Additionally, our research revealed that MPs exposed to pollutant-laden waters can undergo absorption, potentially accelerating their settling velocity and influencing migration paths. Further comprehensive investigations are warranted to unravel these intricate dynamics.
