His research interests focus on the BGC-Argo data quality control and application in the ocean optics and marine ecosystem dynamics. He received his Ph.D. degree in Physical Oceanography from the Ocean University of China in 2008. After that, he has been in the Laboratoire d’Océanographie de Villefranche (France) for 3 years as a postdoctoral fellow, in the Ocean University of China for 4 years as an associate professor, in the Université Laval (Canada) for 2 years as an invited professor, and in the Second Institute of Oceanography since 2017. He is a member of BGC-Argo task team in the Argo data management team, a member of the Scientific Committee on Oceanic Research (SCOR) WorkGroup 142, and a review editor in the journal of Frontiers of Marine Science.
