Talent Structure
Currently, approximately 110 researchers work at SOED, including two academicians of the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS), one academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering (CAE), four members of “National Special Top-notch Talents Plan”, one member funded by “Distinguished Young Scientists Fund of NSFC” and three members funded by “Excellent Young Scientists Fund of the NSFC”, one member awarded by “Leading Middle Aged and Young Innovative Talents of Ministry of Science and Technology”, and more than 20 members selected into provincial and ministerial talents programs. The lab has built a well-structured scientific team, with highly qualified senior scholars as academic leaders and talented young scientists as the backbone.
SOED also breeds two innovative talent teams, “Monitoring and prediction of marine dynamic environment” funded by NSFC and “Marine Satellite Remote Sensing Technology” funded by Ministry of Science and Technology in the first batch. Therefore, the lab has built a precious multi-disciplinary research platform for marine sciences.
