He has long-term interests in the data processing of Argo and Glider, the construction of data system, and ocean data analysis. His published works on these topics generally have used observations from subsurface floats and gliders. During the past two decades he has been heavily involved in the international Argo program and has served as a member of the International Argo Data Management Team. As the principal technician, he had established the Argo data processing system for China Argo which was essential to the establishment of Chinese national Argo Assembly Center. His present work is focused on the construction of China Argo regional network across the Northwestern Pacific, the South China and the North Indian Ocean.
