A photo exhibition of "History and Sovereignty of Diaoyu Islands" was held in Hangzhou Library on June 27th, hosted by the State Oceanic Administration (SOA) and co-organized by SIO and Hangzhou Library. The exhibition attracted many visitors.

    This photo exhibition is the first stop of the publicity on the Diaoyu Islands, and aims at commemorating the 70th anniversary of the victories of the Anti-Japanese War and the worldwide Anti-Fascist War. The three-dimension information system “Diaoyu Islands and affiliated islands,” developed by Dr. ZHANG Huaguo, an associate researcher at SIO, is part of the exhibition.

    The exhibition is co-sponsored by the Development Strategy Institute of SOA, the Publicity and Education Center of SOA, the Border Literature Research Center of the National Library of China, Fujian and Taiwan Regional Research Center of Fujian Normal University, Diaoyu Islands-Protection and Collection Research Center of Tsinghua University, and Shih Hsin University of Taiwan. The exhibition will also travel to Beijing, Qingdao, Zhoushan, Wenzhou, and other cities.
